RESULTS OF
THE DISTRICT 17
SPELLING BEE
Garfield Hts., Ohio - On Sunday, March 11,
2007, the Union of Poles Division of the Polish National
Alliance conducted its 2nd Annual Spelling Bee in the Board of
Directors Room at the Union of Poles Building in Garfield Hts.,
Ohio.
Four eight grade students from the District,
D. J. Bodziony, Zachary Champa, Alexandra Ptak and Christopher
Sobel, attended and tried their best to become the first place
winner.
Winning first place was Christopher Sobel,
who won a $200.00 Savings Bond as well as a trip to Chicago,
Illinois for two, to compete in the PNA National Spelling Bee.
The first place winner in Chicago will receive a $1,000.00
Savings Bond.
All participants were winners because of the
way they conducted themselves and are to be commended for trying
so hard to accomplish what the spelling bee had to offer.
Each year the Union of Poles Division sends
out letters to children ages 12 to 14 inviting them to the
spelling bee. Only a few try. The Union of Poles is very
interested in our children's educational success and the
spelling bee is but one of the many programs available to our
members.
We thank our judges and moderator
Commissioner Fran Lisowski, Rhonda Saegert, Cheri Dzuro and PNA
Vice President David Milcinovic. Rhonda and Cheri are teachers
for the Cleveland School District.
