HEALTH AND WELLNESS SEMINAR
AT PNA HOME OFFICE APRIL 2011
 

Chicago, Illinois - The Polish National Alliance, PNA President Frank Spula, and the Tukiendorf Training Institute of Chicago, held the fifth Health and Wellness Seminars at the PNA Home Office Cafeteria, on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

There were over 200 attendees at the seminar. The guests were could be screened with either an urinalysis, Blood Sugar Testing, cholesterol testing, body mass index and Blood Pressure the students from the Training Institute. The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois also gave free screenings through the Kidney Mobile program. There also was an educational tour to know more about high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease. Doctors were on hand to speak to those tested about the results. Translators were also on hand to assist with the doctors for those who did not speak English.

A representative from ACCESS Community Health Network, spoke of the sliding fee scale program to assist patients without insurance in getting health care services at a reduced cost. To learn more about this go to their website www.accesscommunityhealth.net or phone them at 1-866-882-2237.

The guests speakers that spoke at the seminar included Hanna B. Konarzewska, M.S. a cardiologist that spoke about "Irregular Heartbeat and prophylactic of heart disease", and Dr. Dorota Anasinski, DDS. who spoke on your health begins with a healthy mouth and how to prevent mouth disease for a healthy body. Brushing and flossing teeth is the most important way for better health for your body; Dr. Anna Szpindor, an allergist, eating healthy means healthy life; Anna Maria Wegierek PsyD., psychologist spoke about stress and sleep disorder, and demonstrated on how to relax. The speakers were introduced by President Frank Spula.

President Spula would like to thank those who attended and the Home Office volunteers who assisted in the , including, Vice President Teresa Abick, Secretary Charles Komosa, Victor Modlinski, Krystyna Bialasiewicz, Anna Burszczyk, Steve Biesiada, Sophie Pernak, Mary Srodon, Sophie Gajda, Jacek Wasiliewski, Adam Maj and Chester Iwan.
