IMMACULATE
CONCEPTION DEFEATS
ST. JULIANA FOR PNA/ND 6TH GRADE
BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Chicago, IL - The Polish National Alliance -
Notre Dame High School 6th grade boy's basketball tournament
came to another exciting finish. It was a week of great
basketball: Everything you could expect, as the final games were
decided by a free throw.
The championship game was a match up of two
neighboring Northwest Schools, St. Juliana and Immaculate
Conception. Both teams played with great determination and class
at both ends of the courts as IC (Immaculate Conception) mad a
free throw at the end of the game to seal the victory 35 to 34.
The 3rd place game pitted St. Mary of the
Woods against a strong Mary Seat of Wisdom team that lost the
semis and final game, by a basket, 36 to 34. It was a "see-saw"
battle for 4 quarters with outstanding defense; that saw St.
Mary of the Woods coming out on top at the finish.
We would like to congratulate and thank all
the participating schools for their great determination and
sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament and to all
coaches for a job well done.
The Polish National Alliance and Norte Dame
High School staff need to be acknowledged for their continued
support and sponsorship of youth activities throughout the
Chicago area. PNA Vice President Paul C. Odrobina and Chairman
of the PNA Sports and Youth Department, extends his
congratulations and best wishes to all the participants for a
very successful tournament, and a special thanks to Notre Dame
High School for the use of their excellent facility.
