TAKE ME OUT
TO THE BALL GAME!
Detroit, Michigan - The Polish National
Alliance in Michigan did just that! On Friday night, May 23,
2008, over 100 members of the PNA Lodge 53 joined thousands of
Polish Americans from the Detroit Metropolitan area at Comerica
Park in Detroit to celebrate the annual Polish American Night
with the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team.
PRCUA National Director Barbara
Rachinski-Toboy welcomed the area's Polish leaders, including
the National President of the PRCUA Wallace Ozog, National Vice
President Robert Bielenda, PNA National Vice President Paul C.
Odrobina, PNA National Treasurer Marian Grabowski and the
thousands of Tigers fans who came out to the Ball Park to watch
the tigers play the Minnesota Twins. She also welcomed Lodge
53's President Ron Martin, Treasurer Marie Stawasz, and Council
54 representative Jan Favot. Also introduced included were
Michigan PNA Commissioner Gloria Platek and Michigan's PNA
National Director Barbara Martin, who joined the crowd to cheer
on the Polish Scouts and dance groups from local Fraternal
organizations including the Polish National Alliance and Polish
Roman Catholic Union of America.
Dance instructors from each group
choreographed their own students. They came together on Friday
night as one large fraternal group to share their Polish pride!
After the students performed, they enjoyed a great baseball
game, ate plenty of hot dogs and pizza, and once the game was
over, the crowd was treated to an exciting firework display!
Lodge 53's PNA Centennial Dancers Director
Kristal Wioncek and Choreographer Suzan Marzec did a marvelous
job preparing the dance group for the pre game performance. The
dance students did a marvelous job performing to music that
filled the ball field.
