RESULTS OF
THE 2007 PNA
NATIONAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
Glassport, Pennsylvania - The Annual PNA
National Softball Tournament was held on the weekend of July 27
- 29, 2007 in Glassport, Pennsylvania. The weekend was perfect
for a softball tournament drawing twelve men's teams.
On Friday evening, July 27th, a meeting was
held with team managers, coaches and the tournament committee to
conduct the drawing of the brackets, and reviewed the ASA
Tournament rules. This meeting was held at the PNA Lodge 750
banquet room, located in Glassport, PA. PNA Commissioner VIII,
Richard Tyszkiewicz chaired the meeting with his coordinators
Bob Stoudt and Brian Markovic.
PNA Vice President Paul Odrobina welcomed and
thanked the team members for attending this years tournament and
extended well wishes from the entire Executive Board and Sports
and Youth Committee. Mr. Odrobina also acknowledged the team and
their supporters for participating in Sports and Youth
activities on local and national levels along with other
sporting event programs sponsored by the PNA.
National Director Joseph Kaminski echoed the
comments of Mr. Odrobina, plus thanked the many teams from
District VIII in Western Pennsylvania for their continued
support of all PNA sports programs which helps increase our
membership on a daily basis. A special thanks went to the
members of Lodge 1001 in Coventry Rhode Island for traveling to
Pennsylvania each year. Lodge 1001 will be hosting the 2008
National Softball Tournament.
On both days of competition, Vice President
Odrobina, Director Kaminski and Commissioners of District VIII
Tyszkiewicz and Irene Nickel kept quite busy commuting between
the two sports complexes greeting all our participants.
PNA Lodge 1146 in Monessen was the top winners of
the tournament. The second place champs was Lodge 750 Team Number 1
of Glassport with Lodge 352 Team 2 of McKeesport as the third
place Winners. Plaques were presented to the winning teams at
the awards ceremony on Sunday. The Sportsmanship Award was
presented to Lodge 1878 in Central City.
