PNA SENIORS CELEBRATES
20TH ANNIVERSARY

Chicago, Illinois - The Polish National Alliance Senior Groups, both North and South Side, celebrated their 20th Anniversary in February, 2007.

To mark the occasion, both Seniors Groups had a Bingo Bash. The North Side Seniors celebrated on Valentine's Day (February 14th) at the new meeting location, the cafeteria of the PNA Home Office.  PNA Vice President Paul Odrobina came to greet those attending. A handful of bingo games were played, the seniors were then treated to "paczki" and each given a Valentine box of chocolates. Helping out at the meeting were, Richard Piasecki, Commissioner of District 13 Stanley Bogobowicz, Joan Oskorep, Robert Jadach and Krystyna Bialasiewicz. President Frank Spula, Secretary Z. John Ordon and Treasurer Casimir Musielak stopped in to thank those attending.

Two weeks later, on Tuesday, February 27th, the South Side Seniors met at the Mayfield Banquet Hall. All the South Side meetings were held at this location for the past twenty years. A large number of the seniors gathered at the Mayfield Hall to celebrate, playing the Anniversary bingo. PNA Director Arthur Trybek opened the meeting reminiscing of when former PNA Vice President Anthony Piwowarczyk started this venture with the seniors meetings, and watched it blossom. A quick survey was taken, showing that quite a few members had attended the very first meeting twenty years ago. Richard Piasecki sent well wishes from Vice President Paul Odrobina, for he was representing PNA at another fuction out of town and could not be there to celebrate the Anniversary. Joan Oskorep, Robert Jadach and Commissioner of District 13, Stanley Bogobowicz helped out with the games. The seniors enjoyed themselves, but Stella Jozwik was the big coverall winner. Special door prizes were awarded to ten lucky winners. Refreshments were served after the bingo games were completed. A big "Thank You" from Vice President Paul Odrobina goes out to all the volunteers who helped out over the 20 years.

The next senior meetings will be, Wednesday, March 14th, on the North Side at the PNA Home Office and Tuesday, March 27th at the Mayfield Banquet Hall. Go to the "EVENTS" page for dates and details of all senior meetings. Our meetings starts at 10:00 a.m. Seniors who are 55 and older are invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.
