SIDE SENIOR
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Chicago, Illinois - The Polish National
Alliance South Side Senior Group celebrated the Christmas
Holiday on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. The Mayfield Banquet Hall
was adorned beautifully with Christmas decorations. The two
hundred guests
were dressed for the Season as well, the men wearing their Christmas
neckties and the ladies wearing festive sweaters or outfits.
PNA Vice President Paul Odrobina was emcee,
and led everyone in
prayer and a toast for the holiday. After the delicious meal,
Mr. Odrobina introduced Vice President Teresa Abick,
Secretary Charles Komosa, National Treasurer Marian Grabowski, PNA
Directors, Arthur Trybek (also the moderator for the Seniors
Group), Christine Domalewski and Cecelia Tomaszkiewicz,
Commissioners of District 12 Barbara Wesolowski and Roman Bucon,
former Directors Florence and Stanley Stawiarski, Helen Orawiec,
former Commissioners Chester Krupa, Anna Kokoszka, and Joseph
Calka, (District 12) and the volunteers that help at the
meetings, Irene Spiewak, Helen Orawiec, Stella Jozwik (who last
minute could not attend), Roman and Anna Bucon, Florence Jadach,
Loretta Waltee, Barbara Wesolowski, Christine Domalewski and Eleanor Jasiorkowski and the Home Office Staff Joan Oskorep and Robert
Jadach. Sales Director Joseph Magielski
reminded that there was still time to sign up any children and
grandchildren for the Christmas One Time Payment Policy
Promotion. Mr. Odrobina also introduced Diann Marsalek, a PNA
member who is seeking a position as Judge of Cook County at the
next election. She spoke at the North Side meeting the week
before where she enjoyed her visit that she came to the South
Side meeting and also invited her parents to attend.
Vice President Odrobina mentioned that the
year ahead, will have more activities, trips, maybe a show and
speakers. He mentioned that the next meeting will be in
February.
The "Joe Pat" Orchestra under the Direction
of Frank Gentille (who turned 90 years old on December 15th)
entertained the seniors before and after dinner with a variety
of music to dance to and a Christmas Carol sing-a-long.
