PNA DAY 2008

Yorkville, Illinois - It was another picture perfect day on July 13th, the PNA Day picnic in Yorkville, Illinois was attended by over 1,500 participants. This annual event was chaired by PNA Vice President Paul C. Odrobina with the PNA Directors of Region "H" as his co-chairman. The picnic is an annual event jointly sponsored by both Districts (XII and XIII)  to raise funds for the Youth Camp.

The day began with Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Bruno Chmiel in the beautiful open air chapel. Afterwards, Polish dinners were served in the camp dining hall. For our dancing enjoyment, the Red and White Band performed in the outdoor dance area. For those who enjoy swimming, the outdoor pool was made available. There were booths and tables from various vendors, including a booth from the PNA Membership Department and from the PNA Bank. A variety of other activities occurred throughout the day including pony rides, games and dancing.  Coffee, homemade bakery and ice cream were offered as well for those with a sweet tooth. There was ballroom dancing lessons given by Wojciech Kozlowski, a choral concert by the Chopin Choir and activities for children including face painting, a jumping moon walk module and a dunk tank.

Our lottery raffle was won by ten lucky people with Andrzej Trojan winning the big prize of $1,000.00. A volleyball tournament between Districts XII and XIII was held and won by the District XIII team. There was a youth soccer tournament held with seven teams entered which included the PNA Blyskawica SC Teams, JOM - Chicago SC Teams, Lolki - Addison FC Teams and the Wisla Krakow Team who won the tournament.

Attending this year's PNA Day included: President Frank Spula, Treasurer Marian Grabowski, Secretary Charles A. Komosa and PNA Directors of Region "H", Arthur Trybek,  Christine Domalewski, Cecilia Tomaszkiewicz, and Anna Wierzbicki the Secretary of our Committee with Wanda Juda as the PNA DAY Treasurer, PNA Commissioners Barbara Wesolowski and Roman Bucon (District 12), and Irene Hercik and Zenon Olejniczak (District 13), Former Directors Florence and Stanley Stawiarski, and Loretta Chabalowski (lottery chairlady), and Former Commissioner of District 13 Stanley Bogobowicz.  Also visiting the camp was PNA Director Joseph Kaminski with his wife Marlene. The committee is also grateful to all the volunteers from various Lodges and Council who helped, and the Camp Officers and Directors.

All in all, everyone enjoyed themselves with their fellow PNA members.
