PNA VICE PRESIDENT ODROBINA HONORED
AT PAC MICHIGAN DIVISION BANQUET

Hamtramck, Michigan - Polish National Alliance Vice President Paul Odrobina was honored during the 2007 Installation Banquet of the Polish American Congress Michigan Division on March 31, 2007 at the PNA Council 122 Hall located in Hamtramck, Michigan.

Introductions and a warm welcome to the attendees was given by Stella Szczesny, Chairperson of the banquet. The Masters of Ceremonies was Mr. Waldemar Raczkowski. Ms Barbara Gromet sang the national anthems and Rev. Timothy Whalen, Chancellor of the Orchard Lake Schools gave the invocation. National President of the PNA and PAC Frank J. Spula presented Paul with a gift in appreciation for his 23 years of service as the President of the Polish American Congress Michigan Division. A plaque was then presented by Executive Vice President of the PAC Michigan Division Helena Zmurkiewicz in appreciation to Mr. Odrobina.

Mr. Odrobina expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the kindness that the members of the PAC had shown him and his family during his 23 years as President and one year as Executive Vice President. He recalled his 35 years involvement with the PAC in Michigan and the many people he had worked with during those years. One prominent person who had an impact on the Michigan Division and was particular importance to Paul over the years was Kazimierz Olejarczyk, who is still active with the PAC in Michigan. In his closing remarks Paul expressed that he felt the friendship he had acquired through the years were like a part of his extended family. He wished the new administration much success in all their endeavors.

The newly elected officers were then sworn into office by Mayor of Hamtramck, Karen Majewski. The officers are as follows: President Mariusz Szajnert; Executive Vice President Donald Horkey; Vice President for the Polish Affairs Dr. Zdzislaw Jurek; Vice President for the American Affairs Henrietta Nowakowski; Treasurer Karol Korkiewicz; Recording Secretaries Ann Bankowski and Mary Ellen Tyszka; Corresponding Secretary Helena Zmurkiewicz; and Executive Board Advisor Kazimierz Olejarczyk.

Concluding remarks were given by the newly elected President of the PAC Michigan Division, Mariusz Szajnert. The benediction was given by Rev. Bogdan Milosz, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish.
