ANNA MERCHEL ACTIVE MEMBER OF
LODGE 2859 PASSES AWAY

Detroit, Michigan - On October 25, 2007, Anna V. Merchel passed away. She was the beloved mother of Larry (Eugenia) Merchel, Grandmother of Sammy and the late Lillian. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Altar Society, P.L.A.V. Post 75 retirees, Polkaboosters, P.W.A., PNA Lodge 2859, and Council 54, Felician Sisters Auxiliary, Orchard Lake Auxiliary, St. Barbara Christian Mothers and D of I Tekakwitha Circle.

Her funeral Mass was held at St. Barbara's in Detroit, and Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. PNA National Director Barbara Martin along with PNA District X Vice President and Council 122 President Stella Szczesny, and Lodge 1758 President Thomas Schemansky extended condolences of the PNA National Officers, District X, Council 122 and Lodges 53 and 2859 to the family and friends of Anna Merchel. Throughout the 1960's and 1970's, Anna was extremely active with the PNA. Through her work with the youth, dance and song groups within Council 54, she chaired numerous committees, working bingo, and supporting PNA activities. She promoted PNA and Polish Culture throughout the communities in Michigan. Anna will be missed, but we will remember the work she did!
