LODGE 1365 IN ADAMS, MASSACHUSETTS

Adams, Massachusetts - The tension was high on March 25, 2011 at the PNA in Adams, MA., for the annual Pinewood Derby event held at Lodge 1365. There were 40 competitors and their families assembled. There were a few practice heats on Thursday night before the competition took place on Friday. Joshua Shoestock took home the trophy for the overall championship. Every participant and guest received a trophy for their participation in this great community event.

The PNA third Annual Ice Fishing Derby was held on Cheshire Lake again this year in March 2011. Bill Kalisz (member of lodge 1365) organized and ran the competition for us again this year. It was bigger and better this year with approximately 45 participants who fished from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A chicken dinner followed at the PNA for the participants. Every child that participated received a beautiful trophy with a fish on it, courtesty from the PNA Sports and Youth Department in Chicago. Kolin Lic was the overall winner with a fish that was 14 lbs, 14 ounces and 39 inches long. The kids that received trophies at the PNA are CJ Lillie, Jenny Propowicz, Brandon Tworig, Thane Preite, Jack Sniezek, Henry Sniezek, and Nash Morin. Nash also caught the largest fish in the children's division at 1 lb, 3 oz and 14 inches long.

Shylow St. Germain (Member) held the third annual Relay of Life fundrasier at the PNA with a local band called CJ and the Damn It Band. It was another successful fundraiser for this young woman who now the co-chair of the Northern Berkshire Rely for Life for 2011. Shylow first got involved in 2003, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She has been in remission since that time.
