DIRECTOR ERNEST V. ZARNOWSKI
PASSES AWAY
Toms River, New Jersey - Former PNA
Commissioner and Director Ernest V. Zarnowski passed away on
January 22, 2011 at his home in Berkley Township in New Jersey.
He was 81 years of age.
Ernest
has been a member of the Polish National Alliance since 1938. He
was a retired Detective for the Kearny Police Department and was
a U.S. Marine Corp. Korean War Veteran, attaining the rank of
Staff Sergeant. Mr. Zarnowski has been active as an a
parishioner and lector of the St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in
Berkley Township.
Ernest became active with the PNA, serving as
the Financial Secretary of Lodge 2901 from 1970 and became
President of Council 48 in 1974 until his passing. He attended
numerous PNA National Conventions partaking as a delegate of the
Council and became the Commissioner of District V for two
consecutive terms in 1983. At the 1991 National Convention,
Ernest was honored to become a National Director of Region "B"
for two consecutive terms.
Besides the PNA, he was a member of the
Retired Police and Fireman Local 8, the American Legion Post
129, President of the Silver Ridge Park Men's Club and served on
the Silver Rigde Park Homeowners Association.
Predeceased by his loving wife Vivian
Zarnowski in 1990, and two brothers, Roy and Edward Zarnowski.
He is the father of David (Linda) Zarnowski of East Brunswick,
New Jersey and companion to Betty Okeson.
