NORTH DAKOTA
DANCERS ARE
"ON THE ROAD" AGAIN
Warsaw, North Dakota - July 24, 2009 was a
day to remember for the Senior Dancers of the Warsaw North
Dakota PNA Krakowiak Dancers. Thanks to Bill and Joyce Kingsbury
of Grafton, ND., the dancers were contacted to be the pre-show
entertainment at the "Medora Musical" in western North Dakota.
The show has earned the title of "Greatest Show in the West",
providing family entertainment in the outdoor splendor of the
North Dakota Badlands in the 3,000 seat Burning Hills
amphitheatre. The "Medora Musical" was recognized as one of the
2009 "Top 100 Events in North America" by the American Bus
Association. This high energy, western musical is proudly
dedicated to the legacy of America's 26th President, Theodore
Roosevelt, and his time spent here in the North Dakota Badlands.
The "Medora Musical" is professionally produced and showcases
American patriotism. The PNA Dancers received a warm welcome
from the entertainers and added a colorful showcase of Polish
ethnic dances to the program. The dancers also enjoyed meeting
many people at the "musical" who applauded their performance.
Dance Director and District 14 Commissioner
Sandra Schuster, along with 12 dancers (Annie Kazmierczak, Lucas
Mondry, Kelsey Altendorf, Jesse Kazmierczak, Alana Misialek,
Haley Ulland, Kristina Schuster, Matthew Everson, Candy Jo Pinta,
Justin Stoltman, Philomena Kazmierczak, and Brittney Everson)
with several family members traveled 300 miles across the state
of North Dakota to perform at the amphitheatre. Over 2days, the
dancers rehearsed, performed, toured the area of Medora and had
some free time to explore this area of major attractions. Some
of the dancers and parents also enjoyed golfing at the legendary
Bully Pulpit Golf Course. This course is surrounded by the
dramatic North Dakota Badlands, some holes play in meadows and
woodlands, while others follow the Missouri River. Sometimes
your golf ball drops over 100 feet from tee to fairway.
Following the Medora performance, the group
spent a day in Bismark and then ended their 4 day tour as they
headed eastward to Minot, North Dakota. Minot is the home of the
10 day North Dakota State Fair where the dancers also performed
on Sunday, July 26th. Record breaking crowds from all parts of
the midwest attended the fair that weekend.
The dancers of Lodge 3043 are proud to
represent the Polish National Alliance all over the great state
of North Dakota.
