PNA COUNCIL 54 - NEW OFFICERS AND
BRUNCH WITH BUNNY

Detroit, Michigan - On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, PNA National Vice President Teresa Abick installed the newly elected officers of Council 54. Congratulations to: President John LaCroix, Vice President/Youth Elaine Kozub, Vice President/Fundraising Donna Kutylowski, Secretary Christine Kryszko, Treasurer Jan Favot, Auditors Jerry Brzezinski, Ron Martin and Sherry Cauchon, Sergeant at arms Jerry Brzezinski, Flag Bearers Natalie LaCroix and Barb Martin.

The first order of business for these new elected officers was to set up a brunch with the Easter Bunny for March 15th at the Millennium Centre in Southfield, Michigan.

Brunch With the Easter Bunny

Council 54 held this year's Easter party on Saturday, March 15th at the Millennium Theater in Southfield. Over one hundred children and parents attended our first event at this venue and no on was disappointed. Crafts, games and food were offered in the expansive 4,000 square foot lobby. Our own Janice Favot, Council 54 Treasurer, appeared with rave reviews as Easter Bunny and was very much at home on her regal throne at center stage. Children and adults had beautiful colored pictures taken with the Easter Bunny by Chris Martin and his computer crew, while an energetic Easter Duck (Bethany Stawasz) greeted all comers at the doors and throughout the theater.

We are grateful for the leadership and hard work of many Lodge 53 members including PNA District 10 National Director Barbara Martin, Commissioners Ed Nizienski and Glorai Platek, and Council officers Elaine Kozub (Lodge 425), 1st Vice President and Chairperson of the party, and Jerry Brzezinski, with his nephews Eric and Kyle Brzezinski, (Lodge 2821) sergeant at arms. Everyone not only helped with setup and activities, but stayed to put all tables and chairs away. Jerry Brzezinski and Elaine's husband Carl Kozub, kept everything in good order and handed out stuffed animals to each child as they left the party. Thanks also to Deborah Stawasz and Natalie LaCroix, Jill Kokpacke and Denise Bielski (Lodge 53) and Lillian Liddell and Marie (Lodge 2377) for helping with the crafts and activities, and also to Sherry Cauchon (Lodge 2525) for her demonstration of Pisanki. David and Sandra Rekuc returning members to Lodge 53 took care of tickets at the doors. Francine Nizienski gave us all a big lift by showing up so soon after shoulder surgery. We look forward to her active return as soon as possible.

Special thanks are in order for the young adults of Lodge 53 who really carried the day with their creative and energetic support which included John LaCroix Jr. and Sarah, the Martin Family; Christopher and Megan, Andrea and Jessica, along with their father and Lodge 53 President Ron Martin who doubles as program announcer and PNA National Product sales representative, and Jennifer Rekuc, Katherine Nizienski, and Bethany Stawasz. Finally, we are grateful for the warm support and co-sponsorship of the Millennium Theater management for this event. Their hospitality was outstanding. Lodge members attending expressed approval for the central location of this site and the outstanding facilities it provides, especially the huge theatrical stage designed for dancing. The Easter Party was a good event. Those that follow will be better. We will return to the Millennium Theater in December 2008 for our Christmas Party. Don't Miss it!
