INSTALLATION
OF COUNCIL 167,
LODGE 2535 AND CLUB FILARETS
Hamtramck, Michigan - PNA Council 167 and PNA
Lodge 2535 held their annual Installation Dinner on Sunday,
February 15, 2009 at the Father Blaszczyk Hall at Our Lady Queen
of Apostles Parish in Hamtramck, Michigan. The afternoon event
began with an invocation given by Father Bogdan Milosz, Chaplain
of the Club Filarets and Pastor at Our Lady Queen of Apostle
Parish.
PNA Council 167 and Lodge 2535 Officers took
the oath of office from Edward Nizienski, PNA Commissioner of
District X. PNA Council 167 officers are: President John
Grzesiak, Vice President Frank Gac, Vice President Wilhelm
Klopotowski, Recording Secretary Genowefa Mackiewicz, and
Treasurer Wladyslawa Cichon. Members of the Audit Committee are
Wieslaw Mackiewicz, Genowefa Mackiewicz, and Charlotte Grzesiak.
PNA Lodge 2535 officers are: President
Genowefa Mackiewicz, Vice President Charlotte Grzesiak, Vice
President Wladyslawa Cichon,, Financial Secretary Genowefa
Mackiewicz, Treasurer Wieslaw Mackiewicz, and Recording
Secretary John Grzesiak. Members of the Audit Committee are John
Grzesiak, Charlotte Grzesiak and Wladyslawa Cichon.
Along with the Council and Lodge, the Club
Filarets Officers took their oaths of office from Wladyslaw
Budweil, Honorary General Director of the Polish Singers
Alliance of America and Honorary Director of the Filaret Chorus.
Filarets Officers are: President Miroslaw Wawrysz, Vice
President Andrzej Ordon, Financial Secretary Genowefa Mackiewicz,
and Recording Secretary Krystyna Kuczara. Members of the Audit
Committee are Irena Kulik, Jeanette Kornas, and Lucyna Dubiel.
Librarians are Krzystof Grzesiak, Slawomir Kmiec, Czeslaw Wojnar
and Dolores Patrick. Upon issuing the oath of office to the new
board, Budweil stated that he wishes them all the best, but had
the sympathy for the officers this year. He explained that
normally the officers serve one year terms in office, but
because the group is preparing for the triennial convention of
the Polish Singers Alliance of America in 2010 and the Club
Filarets will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary the same year,
they would be serving a 2 year term and are looking at a lot of
hard work ahead for them.
The afternoon ended with a raffle and a
sing-a-long of several popular Polish songs led by Wladyslaw
Budweil at the piano.
