Janita Tucker from the Peterson Pulaski Business and Industrial Council welcomed the guests attending. There were representatives from many businesses and residents from the area. Janita introduced the Moderator Mr. Christian Farr, from WTTW Channel 11. Christian introduced the panelist, State Senator Ira Silverstein from the 8th Legislative District, State Representative John D’Amico from the 15th House District, Alderman Margaret Laurino of the 39th Ward and District Director John Borovicka representing US Representative Rahm Emanuel from the 5th Congressional District. Each of the panelists spoke briefly about issues that was important to the community and how they participated in the passing of bills. The topics they spoke of included Identity Theft, Under Age Drivers Restrictions, Creating a Wireless Access for computers throughout the city and other accomplishments. Afterward Mr. Farr chaired a lengthy question and answer period session where important topics from the Community were brought to the attention of the panelists, including Health Care Issues for Small Businesses, the new immigration laws, and emergency awareness for the city in case of evacuations. These were noted by the panelists and hopefully looked into for further resolutions with the Government in our State.
