AMERICAN ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WITH
ILLINOIS STATE TREASURER ALEXI GIANNOULIAS
Chicago, Illinois - On Thursday, January 21,
2010 National Secretary Charles A. Komosa and President Frank
Spula of the Polish National Alliance organized a Polish
American Roundtable Discussion with Illinois State Treasurer
Alexi Giannoulias, Democratic Cadidate for US Senate, at the
Polish National Alliance (PNA) Headquarters in Chicago,
Illinois.
The Polish American leaders included, Frank
Spula, President Polish National Alliance Fraternal Life
Insurance and National President of Polish American Congress
(PAC), Virginia Sikora, President Polish Women's Alliance
Fraternal Life Insurance, Wallace Ozog, President of the Polish
Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA) Fraternal Life
Insurance, Stanley Zagata, President of the Polish Highlanders
of America, Edward Mika, Preisdent emeritus of the Alliance of
Polish Clubs, Dr. Lydia Filus, Preisdent of the Polish Council
of Education in Polonia, Henryk Kaczmierczak, President of the
Polish American Chamber of Commerce, Bogdan Pukszta, Executive
Director of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce, Antoinette
Trella Vander Noot, Secretary-Treasurer of the Polish Women's
Alliance, Robert Groszek, Attorney and Executive Director of
Amicus Poloniae Legal Clinic, T. Ron Herbert-Jasinski, Polonia

Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias
outlined his positions on education, health care, the visa
waiver program for Poland, a commitment to support non-taxation
of fraternal insurance societies like the PNA, PRCUA and the PWA,
and the development of small business.
Alexi spoke of his education and work ethics
that his parents, both Greek immigrants, instilled in him as a
youth, answered questions directly from the roundtable panelists
concerning the state budget, position on the war in Iraq, and
economics in the U.S.
In closing, Illinois State Treasurer Alexi
Giannoulias expressed heartfelt thanks to the Polish American
leaders for their time and commitment to the Polonia in
Illinois, and graciously asked the Polish American leaders for
their support in his bid for the democratic nomination for
United States Senate.
The Primary elections in Illinois will be
held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
