THE ELEVENTH
ANNUAL MEMORIAL MASS
AND BREAKFAST FOR LODGE 352
McKeesport, Pennsylvania - Thaddeus Kosciusko
Lodge 352 held their Annual Communion Breakfast for the deceased
members of the Lodge on November 15, 2009 at St. Mary of
Czestochowa - St. Pius V Church. The 9:00 a.m. Mass was well
attended by members of the Lodge who enjoyed the choir's singing
of Polish hymns throughout the Mass that was celebrated by
Father Steve Kresak. Among the dignitaries attending the Mass
were President Frank J. Spula, National Director Joseph A.
Kaminski, District VIII Commissioners Richard Tyszkiewicz and
Irene Nickel, National Sports Director Val Pawlos, President of
Council 110 Edward Mularski, McKeesports Mayor James Brewster,
McKeesport Police Chief Joseph Pero and McKeesport Fire Chief
Kevin Lust.
After the Mass, the members and guests were
invited to a buffet breakfast that was prepared by Jamie
Mitchell, caterer of Lodge 352. Mr. John "Spanky" McAraw emceed
the event and introduced President of Lodge 352, Rick Krivda,
who thanked everyone present for attending, Mr. Spula and Mr.
Kaminski were introduced to make various comments pertaining to
both the Polish National Alliance and the Polish American
Congress.
Secretary of Lodge 352 Thomas Stephenson was
introduced and presented a check to Police Chief Joseph Pero for
the cost of a bullet proof vest and a check to Fire Chief Kevin
Lust to cover the cost of electrical equipment that identifies
objects in a smoke filled building. Mr. Stephenson also
presented President Spula a check for $1,000.00 payable to the
PAC-Charitable Fund for the orphans of Poland.
Mr. McAraw in his closing remarks, informed
everyone that the Lodge also donates to the Auberle Foundation
and to Toys for Tots in the name of James McAraw. Father
Lachowicz, former Pastor of St. Mary of Czestochowa was
introduced to give the benediction. Once again the Communion
Breakfast was a successful event for the Lodge in terms of
attendance and charitable donations.
