PNA HOME OFFICE 2007 AUTUMN FEST

Chicago, Illinois - On Saturday, October 20, 2007, the Polish National Alliance was transformed into a large Autumn Festival for adults and children, that was open for the public from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The admission was free for everyone. Each child entering received a goody bag with candy.

Bright orange pumpkins were strategically lined up in the green grass, Halloween themed decorations adorned the tents and frightful music played to set the mood for a spooky good time.

Tents with activities, food and the PNA Bank surrounded grounds. Activities for children included many games, pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting, and a costume contest. Some of the winning costumes included, princesses, witches, animals, super heroes and an assortment of scary creatures. Winners of the best costumes went out to: Age 2-4 group: Tommy Cosgrove, Adrian and Kim Borowicz; Age 5-7 group: Weronika Pietraszek, Matthew Zarakowski, and Deseree Montoya; Age 8-9 group; Kasia Pokraski, Kamil Lata, and Mike Lyewski.

Pumpkin Painting and Carving Winners included: Age 0-4 group: Yasmeen Beg, Victor Szuszkiewicz, and Dominick Siwiec; Age 5-8 group: Colleen Daniasz, Oskar Staszkiewicz, and Tommy Holczynski; Age 9-12 group: Oscar Fatyga, Michelle Piasecki, and Fili Ciesinski; Age 13-16 group: Kasia Sierzputowska, Klaudia Drewno, and Adrian Bochnia; Age 17-21 group; Jessica Zendejas, Angelica Magiera and Kathy Salgado.

During the fest a fencing demonstration took place outside the main tent.

PNA Vice President Teresa Abick had overseen the entire event. She thanked the Executive Committee, Directors and Commissioners and all the volunteers and everyone who was involved in making the fest a success.

Volunteers that helped out before, during and after the fest included: PNA President Frank Spula, Vice President Paul Odrobina, Secretary Z. John Ordon, Treasurer Marian Grabowski, Directors Arthur Trybek, Anna Wierzbicki, Christine Domalewski, and Cecilia Tomaszkiewicz; Commissioners of District 12 Barbara Wesolowski and Roman Bucon, District 13 Irene Hercik and Zenon Olejniczak, PNA employees, Anna Burszczyk, Mary Srodon, Joan Oskorep, Robert Jadach, Victor Modlinski, Ewa Zawadowicz, Wojciech Wierzewski, Ken Widelka, Mary Ignatowicz, Wanda Penar, Adam Maj and Chester Iwan; Wanda Juda, Anna Bucon and those who came with the Directors and Commissioners that helped out in the games and booths.
