PRESIDENT ABICK ANNOUNCES
DISTRICT START PLANNING NOW FOR
2010 - NATIONAL SPELLING BEE
Chicago, Illinois - PNA Vice President Teresa
Abick announced to start spreading or more appropriately start
"Spelling" the word.
The Polish National Alliance Educational
Department would like to take this opportunity to encourage all
qualified eighth (8th) graders to dust off their dictionaries,
brush up on their vocabulary and spell their way to a thousand
dollars.
The first round of elimination will take
place at the Lodge or Council level in the beginning of 2010.
Winners of the Council level will proceed to a second round
elimination at the District level (only one winner per
District). The winner of the District competition will be
awarded a trip for two (contestant and parent or guardian) to
Chicago to compete in the National Spelling Bee to be held on
April 10, 2010.
Prizes will be awarded for every level of
competition. First, Second and Third Place Winners will receive
$1,000.00, $500.00 and $250.00. In addition, the name and
pictures of all national winners will be published in the Zgoda
and posted on the PNA Website in recognition of their efforts.
The Spelling Bee is only open to eighth grade
PNA Members. If you meet the requirements, please contact your
local PNA Director, Commissioner, Lodge or Council President or
Secretary to participate in the local competition.
