DISTRICT 13 ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER

Chicago, Illinois - District 13 held their annual Christmas Dinner on Friday, January 8, 2010 in the PNA Cafeteria. Commissioner Zenon Olejniczak welcomed all present for this festive event. Guests included Director Anna Wierzbicki, Lady Commissioner of District 13 Irene Hercik, and President of the Polish American Congress, Illinois Division Kazimierz Chlebek.

Prayer was said by Rev. Canon Tadeusz Dziesko, which also included prayers for those that were ill and could not be with us at this event, and also for those that passed away. He also sang a pastoralka before the meal. The Polish tradition of breaking and sharing the oplatek with all had everyone wishing each other a Happy and Healthy New Year. Everyone enjoyed the meal.

Since it was Commissioner Olejniczak's Birthday, Rev. Dzieszko started with everyone joining in the singing of Happy Birthday and Sto Lat to the jubilant. A cake from Lady Commissioner Irene Hercik was presented to him.

Each participant at this event received a gift from the Commissioners.

Musical entertainment for the evening was provided by "Profil Band" for our listening pleasure. Some songs had the audience participating in singing along with the band.

Holiday greetings were extended to all and wishing everyone a safe journey home.
