DISTRICT XIII WOMEN'S DIVISION
CHRISTMAS DINNER

Chicago, Illinois - District 13 Women's Division held their annual Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in the PNA Cafeteria. Hostesses of the evening were Councils 41 and 120. They had placed decorations on the tables, and provided the meal for all to enjoy, along with providing the musical entertainment of Marek Kalinowski of the Marcus Band.

Commissioner Irene Hercik welcomed all present. Guests included National Vice President Teresa Abick , Directors Anna Wierzbicki, Cecelia Tomaszkiewicz, and Christine Domalewski, along with newly elected Directors  Wanda Penar and Irene Hercik, Commissioner of District 13 Zenon Olejniczak, along with newly elected Commssioners Wanda Juda and Joseph Hercik, and Commissioner of District 12 Barbara Wesolowski, and members of the Welfare Association from District 12.

The Polish tradition of breaking/sharing oplatek had everyone wishing each other a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Prayer (by Chaplin Irene Szczech) was said before the meal, which included those that were ill and could not be with us and those that had recently passed away.

Presents were offered by Commissioners elect Wanda Juda and Joseph Hercik, Director Anna Wierzbicki, and outgoing Commissioner and Director elect Irene Hercik.

Holiday greetings were extended to all from the Directors and Commissioner. Lady Vice President Teresa Abick extended greetings from the National Officers and even spoke on the history in her family of Christmas past. Even though there are different nationalities in her extended family, they still celebrate Wigilia customs and traditions.
