DISTRICT XIII WOMEN'S DIVISION
CHRISTMAS DINNER

Chicago, Illinois - District 13 Women's Division held their annual Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 3, 2009 in the PNA Cafeteria. Hostesses of the evening were Councils 41 and 120. They had placed decorations on the tables, and provided the meal for all to enjoy.

Commissioner Irene Hercik welcomed all present. Guests included Directors Anna Wierzbicki, Cecilia Tomaszkiewicz, and Christine Domalewski, Commissioner of District 13 Zenon Olejniczak, Commissioner of District 12 Barbara Wesolowski, and past Commissioners of District 13 Stanley Bogobowicz and Kazimiera Nowak.

The Polish tradition of breaking/sharing the oplatek had everyone wishing each other a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Prayer by Chaplain Irene Szczech was said before the meal, which included those that were ill and could not be with us and those that had recently passed away.

A raffle was held, to help generate some funds for the Women's Division, with presents being based on the Christmas theme. Some were lucky enough to win, sometimes even more than once, while others could only look and enjoy the holiday cups and bowls that were offered.

Presents of daily planners for all were offered by Commissioners Irene Hercik and Zenon Olejniczak. Glass candy bowls were given to all, compliments of Director Anna Wierzbicki.

December birthday greetings were extended to those who had or would have birthdays during the month. "Happy Birthday" wishes and "Sto Lat" were given and sung to Past Commissioner Stanley Bogobowicz who would celebrate his birthday the following day.

Holiday greetings were extended to all from the Directors and Commissioners.
