ROSARY SERVICE FROM
WELFARE ASSOCIATION AND
WOMEN'S DIVISION OF DISTRICT XIII
 

Chicago, Illinois - On Thursday October 13, 2011 in the PNA Cafeteria, the Welfare Association along with the Women's Division of District 13 met together to celebrate the 94th Anniversary of the Sighting of Our Lady of Fatima and the "Miracle of the Dancing Sun".

Jesuit priest Fr. Jerzy Karpinski was the main celebrant of the gathering. He spoke of his mission work in Siberia Russia. He informed all of the hardship and difficult life for the people in those areas. He also stated that his first mission was to find Polish Catholics who never left the area after being deported there during the war.

Before the rosary service was said, songs were sung in preparation for the festive mood. Fr. Karpinski passed out sacred pictures of Sister Faustina to all assembled in the hall.

After the rosary service, a small food treat was shared by those present and this was hosted by the Welfare Association, Women's Division of District 13 and Council 3.

Commissioner Irene Hercik thanked all for their participation and for a safe trip back home.
