PNA FIRST ALL DISTRICT COOKIE BAKE OFF
Chicago, Illinois - The PNA
Educational Department sponsored the first "PNA Bake
Off Contest". Letters were sent to all the 17
District Commissioners asking them to sponsor this
new event for December 19, 2009, as a sign of unity.
At the start of the new year, replies from Districts
1, 9,12, 13, 14, and 15 reported winners for each of
their districts.
Each of the District
Commissioners held separate events on December 19,
2009. Contestants were to be from the ages of 12
through 16. The judging was done by members of the
district who did not know, which cookies were baked
by the contestants. There was judging based on
taste, appearance, texture, aroma, and creativity.
The contestants baked their cookies at the homes and
brought their plates to the judging sites. Each
District handled the judging and bake off
differently.
Vice President Teresa Abick was
happy to see that there were districts participate
in this event and hopes that if it continues that
additional districts will join in on the fun.
