DISTRICT 10
SPELLING BEE RESULTS
Hamtramck, Michigan - On Saturday, March 31,
2007, District 10 of the Polish National Alliance held their
Spelling Bee at the Council 122 Hall in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Commissioners Barbara Martin and Edward Nizienski had invited 8th grade students from the Lodges
in District 10 to participate in this years contest. Three
contestants from two lodges participated in the event, which
included Paul M. Odrobina of Lodge 1758, Erica Odrobina of Lodge
1758 and Katherine Suchyta of Lodge 2525. The Commissioners thanked those attending
including PNA Vice President Paul C. Odrobina. She
then introduced the Pronouncer's for the spelling bee which
included Barbara Gronet, and the judges were Barbara Martin,
Edward and Francine Nizienski. Each contestant introduced
themselves.
The competition began as each of the
participants spelled their words correctly. After a few rounds,
the final contestant standing, Katherine Suchyta correctly
spelled her word to win the 2007 District 10 Spelling Bee.
Katherine will go on to
represent District 10 and compete with other winners from
other Districts in the PNA National Spelling Bee on April 14, 2007.
Commissioners Martin and Nizienski thanked all
three participants and parents for attending, the Pronouncer's
for their help, PNA National Vice President Paul C. Odrobina for his
assistance and all the lodges that sent a representatives over
the years that participated in the Spelling Bees. They hope that
there will be additional participants in future spelling bee's
in the years to come.
