LODGE 1001
HOLDS FIRST
YOUTH BOWL-A-THON
Coventry, RI - Lodge 1001 in Coventry, Rhode
Island held its first ever Youth Bowl-a-thon.
Spearheaded by the efforts of Kevin Leandro
and Tammy Bellavance. The tournament was held on Sunday February
26, 2006 with over 40 registered youngsters ranging from ages
one and up. Many would say it was a huge success as well as a
fun day.
Upon entering the confines of the local
bowling alley and registered each child, they received a t-shirt
and proceeded to their lanes where adult supervisors met them at
each lane.
It was great to see the smiles on the kids
faces upon returning to their seats. This was worth a million
dollars. They didn't care if they had a strike or if they threw
a gutter ball. The high fives were coming from everywhere.
When the children finished bowling, there
were treated to pizza and soda at the Lodge 1001 Hall and
trophies and ribbons were given out to the best bowlers.
After all that was said and done, Kevin
thanked everyone who helped out and also thanked the PNA Home
Office for the donation of the trophies that was sent to the
Lodge.
Seeing that this was a huge success, the
Lodges Sports and Youth Committee are planning a miniature golf
tournament in the summer.
