DISTRICT 13 ANNUAL JUNIOR BOWLING
TOURNAMENT

Chicago, Illinois - District 13, PNA held its annual junior bowling tournament on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Habetler Bowing Center in Chicago, IL. Twenty nine children gathered together accompanied by their families to try their luck at rolling the bowling ball down the alley. Of course, for the youngsters who needed bumper lanes were available so that they could knock some pins down. At the end of the tournament all children received medals for their participation, in recognition of this being the year of the Olympics as Vice President Paul Odrobina and Chairman of the Sports and Youth Department, stated prior to awarding the medals with the assistance of Directors Arthur Trybek and Anna Wierzbicki. The children were treated to pizza and soda after the awards. They went home happy and could not wait until the next time that there would be bowling again.

Thanks to Commissioners Zenon Olejniczak and Irene Hercik for sponsoring this annual event and to Wanda Juda and Anna Wierzbicki for organizing the event so that things ran smoothly.

Vice President Paul C. Odrobina and Sharon Zago, Vice President of the Polish Women's Alliance of America awarded a first place trophy to Miranda Whittaker, who won on last years Polonia Bowling Tournament, sponsored by the four Polish Fraternal Organizations.

Since the event was open to all, whether PNA members or not, Vice President of PWA Sharon Zago and her Granddaughter Breanna participated in the event with us. Breanna stated that next year, she will bring a friend and her brother with her.
