FRIDAY - DAY TWO OF THE CONVENTION
A VERY BUSY DAY

Jersey City, New Jersey - The second day of the 45th PNA National Convention was a busy day for the delegates. Many of the Pre-Convention reports were delivered, such as the Educaition, Sports and Youth, Petition and Grievance, and the longest report given was the By-Laws Committee.

The session recessed at noon for the Ladies Luncheon. It was held on the ninth floor of the Hyatt - Jersey City in the Manhattan Room. The special guest speaker was acclaimed actress Ms. Nina Siemaszko, who has been featured in many films and television shows such as "The West Wing" and "Mystery Woman". She was accompanied by her niece and nephew Hanna and Aleks. Commissioner Sophie Dul from PNA District 5 opened the program introducing Vice President Teresa Abick. Mrs. Abick welcomed the 300 plus guest and asked Msgr. Milewski from the Orchard Lake Seminary for Invocation. The present Lady Directors and Commissioners were introduced and presented gifts. Mrs. Abick asked President Spula to present a bouquet of roses to the oldest and youngest delegates attending this convention. Former Director Catherine Dienes and Monica Sochecki were the honorees. President Spula addressed the crowd retelling how this luncheon back in the earlier days was only attended by the women delegates. The convention and the luncheon has come a long way since then.

During dessert, Mrs. Abick introduced Ms. Siemaszko. She spoke of her heritage and involvement as a youth with the PNA and mentioned about how her parents and the entire family were involved. She said that her parents were proud  and supported them with their goals. Nina had received a gift from Mrs. Abick of a crystal vase. Ms. Siemaszko had an opportunity to visit and take photographs with the attendees before and after lunch.

The afternoon session concluded the reports of the Committees and broke for the evening after 5:00 p.m. The Manhattan Room was once again the sight of another hospitality night where this time the Candidates for Censor, Vice Censor, National Officers and Directors had a chance to meet with the delegates and ask their support for votes.
