QUADRENNIAL NATIONAL CONVENTION:
DAY TWO OF
DELIBERATIONS
Minneapolis, Minnesota - The second day of
deliberations at the 46th PNA Quadrennial National Convention
started an hour earlier than the day before.
Chairman Nowotarski, called upon the
Re-districting Committee chaired by Commissioner Richard
Tyszkiewicz. After the presentation and discussion, the
delegation voted to have 21 Districts with 2 Commissioners
elected for each of the Districts.
The next order of business was the By-Laws
Committee, which saw many recommendations suggested. Chairman of
the Committee was Christopher Nowotarski. Vice Chairman of the
Convention, Christine McMullen took the chairmanship since Mr.
Nowotarski presented the recommendations. The By-Laws took on
most of the day and passed with many changes.
The afternoon session had reports given by
the Pre-Convention Committees of: The Educational Department,
chaired by David Sinclair, The Grievance and Complaint
Committee, chaired by Bozena Kaminski, and the Concepts and
Ideas Committee, chaired by Irene Grabowy. Introductions of the
youngest and oldest delegates were introduced with 3 youngest
members attending were: Patrick Lobacki, Krystyna and Robert
Bronchard, oldest were: Helen Orawiec, Millie Rytel and Stella
Olender (mother of delegate Therese Winters). Gifts to the
recipients was distributed by Local Convention Chairman and
Commissioner of District 14 Sandy Schuster. The convention was
closed arouns 6:30 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m., the delegates were able to
speaks to those seeking office at a "Meet Your Candidate" night
in a reception room on the second floor. Candidates running for
Elected Offices and Directors had a chance to have a one on one
with each of the candidates participating and meet them. There
was another hospitality night in the Nicollet Room "D" until
10:00 p.m. The next order of business was called for Saturday at
8:00 a.m.
