QUADRENNIAL NATIONAL CONVENTION:
DAY THREE OF
DELIBERATIONS - THE LONGEST DAY
Minneapolis, Minnesota - The third day of
deliberations at the 46th PNA Quadrennial National Convention
started Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.
Chairman Nowotarski, called upon the Alliance
Communications Committee chaired by Richard Kozacko. When the
Committee was finished, the Budget and Finance Committee,
chaired by Director Anthony Nowak-Przygodzki was introduced, and
was passed after deliberations.
President Frank Spula and Secretary Charles
Komosa introduced Mrs. Stella Olender and daughter Therese
Winters. They presented the ladies with a memorial plaque
honoring Mrs. Olender's daughter Christine who perished on the
9/11 tragedy. This September will be the tenth anniversary of
the horrific incident. The chairman introduced guest that were
former Directors and Commissioner in the audience including,
Walter Noga, Tomasz Wyszynski and Wlademar Glodek. Mr. Stanley
Soja was introduced as the person who attended the most
conventions with 12. The Membership Committee gave their report.
Mr. Joseph Magielski, the National Sales Director presented
awards to the President's Club members and to the Honor's Club
Members. Those attending the convention were presented their
award and those who could not be present will receive their
award.
President Spula gave his report. Afterward
all the candidates seeking office were introduced from Censor
and Vice Censor, National Officers, Directors and Commissioners.
Chairman of the Election Committee Martin
Jackson instructed the delegates of the election procedure. The
elections then took place. When the voting was officially closed
the delegation was called back into the convention hall. The
ballots were still being counted.
The results were not complete by 5:30 p.m.
and the hotel staff needed to set the room for the installation
banquet that evening in the same rooms, the convention was
temporarily closed and the results would be read at the banquet.
The convention hall was disassembled and
quickly set up as a banquet hall in a matter of an hour and a
half. This is the first time the convention was still in session
and taken down while awaiting convention results.
The candidates, delegates and guests returned
at 7:00 p.m. for the banquet. Chairman Nowotarski announced that
there were a few run off elections and that the delegates will
resume the convention at 11:00 p.m. in the Regency Room. The
offices that had the run off elections were for Censor, Director
Region "G", Commissioner of District 2 and District 15 and 16
had to do their ballots over because of an error.
The banquet was tasteful and elegant.
Commissioner of District 14,Sandra Schuster welcomed the guest
and introduced her Co-Commissioner Mark Borkowski as the emcee.
The presentation of colors by the VFW Post 295 with Mike Keenan
as Commander, started off the program. The National Anthems were
sung and accompanied by Christopher Kubik M.D. and Jaroslaw
Golemiewski.
The elected officers except the ones in the
run off were introduced and took the oath of office from former
PNA Vice President Stanley Jendzejec. (Click Here for list of

The introduction of the debutantes and
squires took place by Vice President Teresa Abick. Introduced
were: Jessica M. Bukowski, Will Surdyka, Christina Maciulewski,
Tomasz Michalak, Christina G. Bandini, Joanna Kowalski, Ashley
M. Holson, Joseph Cyr Linonis, Rochelle Dymond, Anna M. Herold,
Sara Katrenich, Matthew Sochin, Camila Szwajka, Dawid Dechnik,
Alexandra Lyewski, Patrycja Radon, Gaston Delgado Jr., Brittaney
Evenson, Ross Dunnigan, Emily C. Lis, Jeremy R. Briggs, Joanna
C. Lojewska, Daniel Domagala, and Julie M. Lecznar (could not
attend due to family passing).
Remarks were made by Vice President Abick and
President Spula and they presented an appreciation token to the
debutantes and squires. Reverend Jan Michalski who gave the
Invocation also delivered the Benediction. Lastly a "Thank You"
letter was read by Director Hedy Rabiega. The rest of the
evening had entertainment provided by the Euro Band.
The delegation resumed with the run off
election at 11:00 p.m. The voting procedure was similar to the
other election, except this time paper ballots were given to
those voting. When the voting time was closed, the waiting for
the results seemed to take a long time. To pass the time while
awaiting the results, delegates were telling jokes and a chorus
of songs were being sung. Some delegates even took a nap during
that time period. Finally the results were read with the results
of Censor, Director and 2 of the Commissioner races were
determined. The delegates from District 2 would meet before the
Mass in the morning for another vote. The Convention finally
adjourned for the day at about 3:00 a.m.
